Water-Based Separation for Circuit Board Crushing & Recycling Process

#Industry ·2026-02-28

Water-based separation circuit board recycling is a mature and practical physical recycling technology, focusing on crushing dissociation + hydraulic separation to efficiently recover resources from waste printed circuit boards (PCBs).

The process starts with pre-treatment to remove large components. Waste PCBs are then crushed into small particles (usually 1–3 mm) to fully dissociate metals such as copper, tin and precious metals from non-metals like resin and fiberglass.
After screening, the mixed materials enter a water separation system. Using density differences and gravity separation equipment, heavy metals sink and are concentrated, while light non-metals are separated and discharged. The system adopts closed-circuit water circulation, with low water consumption, no wastewater discharge, and wet crushing to control dust.

This physical recycling method avoids strong acids and alkalis, features stable operation, high metal purity and recovery rate, and is an environmentally friendly, economical and reliable solution for industrial-scale PCB resource recycling.
