Mercury sulphide, also known as cinnabar, dansha, chidan, mercuric sand, which is mainly composed of mercuric sulphide, while the ore also contains miscellaneous andrography, apatite, asphaltene and other substances. So, in the mercury beneficiation technology, how to choose mercury sulphide?
Because mercury sulphide has a high density, brittle, natural floatability and other physical and chemical properties, its beneficiation process is generally used in pre-election, re-election, flotation or several methods of joint sorting.
Introduction of mercury sulphide pre-selection process
Mercury ore hand-selected is the traditional pre-selection method, hand-selected particle size is generally 50 ~ 100mm particle size; crushing and screening is another pre-selection of mercury ore, the specific operation of the ore will be crushed and screened, choose the appropriate size of the sieve holes for grading, discard the screen level, so as to achieve the purpose of pre-selection.
Mercury sulphide re-election process introduction
Mercury sulphide has the material characteristic of large specific gravity, so it is favourable to be selected by re-election process. However, in the beneficiation process, a combined heavy-flotation process is generally used instead of a separate re-election process for mercury ores. This beneficiation process generally uses shaking table, jigging machine and other re-election equipment;
Introduction of mercury sulphide flotation process
Flotation can not only effectively recover the cinnabar in the ore, but also effectively recover the natural mercury, chloromercuric sulfide ore and other mercury minerals, so flotation is the most common beneficiation method in some large-scale foreign processing plants.
Introduction of mercuric sulphide heavy-flotation combined beneficiation process
This beneficiation process has the advantages of low production cost, low capital investment and high total recovery rate. This process is very commonly used in mercury ore dressing plants, and the vast majority of cinnabar products in China come from mercury ore dressing plants with this kind of process.
